Krka River Lodge

When the leaves turn, the streamer rods come out and the huchen hunt begins. The team is a crew of professional Slovenian fly fishers who guide two anglers apiece and build each day around what you’re after rather than a fixed script — guests consistently note being asked for their input, not just handed instructions. A lodge host travels with the logistics: transfers, permits, laundry, the shoes you left at the last hotel. Their knowledge runs past the rivers into the food, wine, and history of the country — which at this lodge is considered part of the guiding.
