Overview

Voiage ("we," "us," or "our") operates a fishing lodge discovery atlas and related software tools, including lodge profiles, search, maps, concierge features, owner accounts, subscription and profile-management tools, newsletters, and administrative workflows (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we disclose it, and the choices and rights that may be available to you.

By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, submitting information, or communicating with us, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not want information handled as described here, do not use the Service.

Roles and scope

For most Service activity, Voiage acts as an independent controller or business for the information we collect. If we process personal information on behalf of an enterprise customer under a written agreement, that customer may be the controller or business for that information, and any applicable data processing agreement will govern that processing.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites, lodges, map providers, payment processors, embedded services, social networks, or other third parties that have their own privacy practices. When you leave Voiage or interact with a third party, their terms and policies apply.

Information we collect

We collect information that reasonably relates to operating, protecting, improving, and commercializing the Service, including:

• Identifiers and contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, lodge name, business role, account identifiers, and communication details.
• Account and authentication information, such as login status, account preferences, admin roles, profile-claim status, legal acceptance timestamps, and security records. We do not store your password in plaintext.
• Lodge and business information, such as lodge descriptions, location, images, website, contact details, social links, ownership information, amenities, species, seasons, methods, pricing signals, availability signals, profile edits, verification materials, and submitted or public-source content.
• Commercial and subscription information, such as plan selection, subscription status, billing identifiers, transaction metadata, and payment-provider references. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers and are not stored by us.
• Usage, device, and technical information, such as IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device and browser type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, actions taken, timestamps, session data, cookie identifiers, and diagnostics.
• Search, chat, and communications content, such as search queries, filter selections, concierge prompts, messages, support requests, verification forms, newsletter signups, and feedback.
• Public-source and third-party information, such as lodge website content, publicly available contact information, media, business listings, review snippets, source URLs, and information supplied by service providers or partners.

Sources of information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your use of the Service, from lodges and authorized users, from public sources, from service providers, from analytics and infrastructure partners, from payment and email providers, and from other third parties where permitted by law.

How we use information

We use information for business and commercial purposes, including to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
• Create, verify, administer, publish, moderate, enrich, and update lodge profiles and related content.
• Process account creation, authentication, legal acceptance records, profile claims, administrative permissions, subscriptions, billing workflows, and support requests.
• Return search results, power maps and filters, personalize features, rank or classify listings, route inquiries, and recommend relevant content.
• Communicate with you about accounts, verification, support, policy updates, product updates, newsletters, marketing, and operational notices.
• Analyze trends, measure performance, conduct research, develop new features, train and evaluate data models, improve classification and recommendations, and create aggregated, pseudonymized, or de-identified datasets.
• Detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, security incidents, policy violations, and unlawful activity.
• Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, resolve disputes, and support audits, reporting, and corporate transactions.

AI, analytics, and product improvement

We may use information, including lodge content, public-source data, usage data, search inputs, chat inputs, and feedback, to develop, test, evaluate, train, and improve automated systems, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, classification, ranking, recommendations, fraud detection, and related product features. Where practicable, we use aggregated, pseudonymized, or de-identified information for these purposes.

We do not knowingly use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics for targeted advertising. Automated outputs may be incomplete or incorrect and are used to support the Service, not to make legally or similarly significant decisions about consumers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, log files, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, secure accounts, measure usage, understand performance, and improve features. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We currently do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals because no uniform standard has been adopted.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to:

• Service providers and processors that help us host, secure, analyze, communicate, email, map, support, moderate, store, process payments, and operate the Service.
• Lodges, account administrators, and authorized organization users when needed to provide profile, claim, communication, or account features.
• Third parties you choose to contact or interact with, including lodge websites or services you access from Voiage.
• Professional advisors, auditors, insurers, lawyers, accountants, and financing or corporate transaction counterparties.
• Authorities, courts, law enforcement, regulators, or third parties when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, property, users, lodges, the public, or the Service.
• A successor or prospective successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or transfer of all or part of our business.

Lodge profiles and public content

Information included in public lodge profiles, maps, pages, search results, and directories may be visible to the public and indexed by search engines. If you submit lodge information, images, names, contact details, owner or guide details, or other materials, you are responsible for ensuring you have rights and permissions to provide them and that they may be displayed publicly.

Data scraping and automated collection

You may not use any automated means — including bots, scrapers, spiders, crawlers, scripts, API clients, or headless browsers — to collect, harvest, extract, monitor, or store personal information, lodge data, profiles, contact details, images, or other content from the Service, except for the limited access allowed by our Terms of Service and the crawlers we expressly permit in our robots.txt.

Automated collection of personal information from the Service may violate this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service, and applicable laws, including computer-fraud, trespass-to-chattels, and privacy statutes. We may block, rate-limit, or take technical and legal action against automated collection. If you believe personal information has been collected from the Service by automated means in violation of this policy, contact us using the contact method published on the Service.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and, where applicable, protection of vital interests or public interests. Our legitimate interests include operating and improving the Service, securing the platform, communicating with users, developing products, preventing abuse, supporting business operations, and enforcing rights.

Sensitive information

We do not require sensitive personal information to use the Service. Please do not submit government identifiers, precise health information, payment card numbers, sensitive demographic details, or other unnecessary sensitive information unless specifically requested through a secure workflow. If you submit sensitive information anyway, you consent to our processing it for the purpose for which it was provided and as otherwise permitted by law.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to operate the Service, maintain business records, support legal acceptance records, administer accounts, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and improve the Service. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, legal requirements, operational needs, and risk.

We may retain aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information indefinitely where it no longer identifies you. We may also keep backups and logs for a limited period after deletion requests, consistent with ordinary business continuity and security practices.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, such as access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, provider security controls, row-level database restrictions, logging, monitoring, and operational security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

The Service is operated from the United States and may use service providers in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as contractual safeguards, adequacy decisions, consent, or other lawful bases.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing of personal information. You may also have the right to appeal a decision about a privacy request. To exercise rights, contact us using the contact method published on the Service. We may verify your identity and authority before responding.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link where available. Transactional, account, legal, and security communications may still be sent when necessary.

U.S. state privacy notices

Certain U.S. state privacy laws require notice of categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes, disclosures, and rights. The categories we may collect are described in "Information we collect," the sources in "Sources of information," the purposes in "How we use information," and the disclosures in "How we disclose information." We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of children under 16.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, but certain choices may affect our ability to provide parts of the Service.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Enterprise and administrator access

If your account or information is associated with a lodge, business, employer, agency, or other organization, authorized administrators may be able to access, manage, export, modify, or delete information associated with that organization. If you use an organization-provided email or account, that organization may control or receive information about your account and activity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the updated policy.

Dispute resolution and governing law

Any dispute relating to this policy or your use of the Service is governed by the dispute-resolution provisions in our Terms of Service, including arbitration, class-action waiver, limitation-of-liability, and governing-law terms where enforceable.
