Manas River Lodge

Situated in the heart of Royal Manas National Park on Bhutan's border with India, Manas River Lodge offers dedicated fly-fishing for two of Asia's most prized freshwater species: Golden and Chocolate Mahseer. The lodge operates six private riverside bungalows accommodating up to six anglers per package, with all-inclusive eleven-day trips featuring six days of guided angling on the Manas and Mangde Chhu rivers. Peak seasons align with spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when water conditions favor these powerful game fish and weather is optimal for mountain fly-fishing. The operation emphasizes sustainable practices—catch-and-release on single barbless hooks—and includes cultural and eco-tour guides alongside fishing guides, positioning the lodge as both a fishing destination and a gateway to Bhutan's conservation ethos. Packages include accommodation, meals, beverages, permits, visas, and domestic transport within Bhutan; guests access the lodge via helicopter or domestic flights to Gelephu or Bumthang.
