This is when you'll experience incredible catch rates, with a mix of large salmon and a significant number of grilse. As the season advances through August, the ratio of large salmon to grilse naturally decreases, but the sheer volume of fish makes it an exceptional time for action.\n\nThe season extends into September, offering continued excellent grilse fishing. This late-season period also presents opportunities for sea-run brook trout, and you might encounter late-running large salmon, often referred to as 'jacks.' The lodge operates throughout these months, providing a full spectrum of the Eagle River's Atlantic salmon fishery, from the early-season giants to the abundant grilse and opportunistic trout.
