My guiding year is a tapestry woven from diverse waters across Europe and North America, each offering unique experiences throughout the seasons. In the spring and summer, I focus on the legendary trout streams of the Catskills, New York, a region steeped in fly-fishing history. As the weather warms, the rivers come alive with hatches, providing excellent opportunities for dry-fly and nymph fishing. Later in the summer and into the fall, my travels take me to the pristine rivers of Bavaria and Austria, where I pursue brown trout in stunning alpine settings. The autumn months are particularly rewarding, with excellent fishing on rivers like the Ilz and Ybbs, and the chance to experience the vibrant fall colors. My year also includes excursions to the wild landscapes of British Columbia, Canada, for wilderness lake fishing, and the Czech Republic's Otava River, a fly-fishing utopia. Each destination offers a distinct seasonal charm, from the energetic hatches of the Catskills to the serene beauty of European mountain streams.
